App: odd — One Day Diary

What the app stores

odd is a diary. Everything you write and photograph stays yours:

Your entries (text and photos) are stored on your device and, if iCloud is enabled on it, synced through your own private iCloud database. We cannot read them. Apple stores them under your Apple Account; see Apple's privacy policy.
Camera and photo library are used only to add a photo to a day. Photos are read when you pick or take them and are not uploaded anywhere except your own iCloud.
Face ID / Touch ID, if you turn the lock on, is handled entirely by iOS. The app only receives a yes-or-no answer.
Notifications, if you turn the daily reminder on, are scheduled locally on your device. No push server is involved.

We have no accounts, no login, and no server holding your diary.

What we collect

We collect anonymous usage analytics through Mixpanel, Inc. to understand how the app is used and what to improve. This includes:

actions taken in the app (for example: an entry created, a photo added, a screen opened, a purchase started) — never the content of your diary: no text, no photos, no dates of entries;
aggregate counters about your use of the app: number of days written, current streak, whether the reminder or the lock is on, the selected theme, and whether you have a paid subscription;
standard technical data collected by the analytics SDK: device model, operating system version, app version, and an approximate region derived from your IP address;
a random identifier generated by the app. It is not your Apple Account, your name, or your device's advertising identifier, and it is stored in your iCloud key-value store so that your devices count as one person.

We do not collect your name, email, contacts, precise location, or advertising identifiers. We do not sell your data, and we do not use it for advertising.

We also collect crash reports through Firebase Crashlytics (Google LLC). A crash report describes the state of the app at the moment it stopped — device model, operating system version, app version and the technical trace of the failure — together with a random installation identifier created by the SDK. It never contains anything you have written or photographed. Purchases

odd Pro is sold through Apple's In-App Purchase. Apple processes the payment and tells the app whether the purchase is active. We never see your payment details.

Retention and deletion

Analytics data and crash reports are retained for as long as they are useful for product decisions. Your diary is not retained by us at all — deleting the app removes the local copy, and deleting the data in iCloud removes the synced copy.

Analytics and crash reports are stored under random identifiers and are not linked to your identity, so we cannot locate the records of a particular person on request. Deleting the app stops any further collection.

Children

odd is rated 4+ in the App Store: there is nothing in the app a child should not see. That is a content rating, not an invitation — odd is not a children's app, it is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect data from them.

Changes

We may update this policy. The current version always lives at this address, with the date of the last update at the top.
